Thank you for visiting Englewood's Prayer Wall and for praying for the requests below. We believe in the power of prayer to transform our hearts, lives, homes and beyond.
Pray for the Komara Panta of India
The Komara Panta numbering 34,500 live in the Southwestern state of India named Karnataka along the Konkan Coast.
They read, write and speak in Kannada. But also speak Marathi and Konkani.
They practice Hinduism. Hinduism is extremely diverse with no essential beliefs or required practices shared by all. Therefore, they look to a guru to lead them. The goal of a Hindu’s life is to build up enough good karma to attain freedom from the cycle of reincarnation and join with their gods. Hindus also hope their good works prevent calamity or difficult circumstances in this life. More than dealing with sin, the Komara Panta people are concerned with fulfilling their obligations and doing good works to avoid being punished by their gods through painful life circumstances.
The Bible is considered a Holy Book to the Komara, but does not apply to them personally.
There is no record of any among this people group who have had the opportunity to hear the good news of Jesus Christ. There are no known Church Planting efforts among them.
However, there are bible translations, Jesus Films, gospel recordings and radio broadcasts in their mother tongue.
Will you pray and ask the Lord to send someone to take these materials to the Komara Panta? Ask the Lord to send believers to who will go and explain the Good News to them, teaching them to obey what they learn.
